Thanks for taking the time to explore my work. I’m Luke Stephenson, the filmmaker behind Short Flix Media.

I grew up in Emerald, in Central Queensland, and country weddings have always held a special place in my heart. There’s something honest and beautiful about them: the people, the places, the stories. It’s a privilege to preserve those moments on film.

​

My career has been built around a genuine passion for storytelling and connection. Being trusted to document a wedding, a day that becomes part of a family’s history, is something I take seriously and truly value.

After marrying my wife, Katrina, in 2019, I experienced firsthand how meaningful a wedding film can be. Photographs capture the look of the day, but film brings back the voices, the laughter, and the little moments you didn’t realise you’d treasure.

For years, Katrina and I filmed weddings together, sharing the experience side by side. However, since welcoming our beautiful baby girl into the world, I now capture weddings mostly solo.

 

While the dynamic has shifted, the level of care, attention and experience I bring to each wedding remains exactly the same. In fact, becoming a parent has only deepened my appreciation for the moments that matter most.

Each wedding I film is treated with the same thought and intention I would want for my own memories. It’s crafted to be revisited, relived and cherished for years to come.
